In mijn werk komen dromen, fantasie en werkelijkheid bij elkaar. Persoonlijke verhalen over herkenbare thema’s als identiteit, relaties, emoties en leven en dood zijn aanleiding. Het vastleggen van de gevoelens bij deze thema’s staat centraal in mijn werk en ze prikkelen de fantasie, herinneringen en gevoelens van de kijker, waardoor herkenning en verbinding kan ontstaan.
Ik verbeeld deze thema’s in grafische- en gemengde technieken en geef ze vorm met figuratieve elementen. Hoewel de werkelijkheid wordt geabstraheerd, blijven beeldelementen herkenbaar. Mijn werk is vooral suggestief en associatief. Het zijn vaak sfeerbeelden met een intense emotionele en poëtische lading.
In my work dreams, fantasy and reality come together. Personal stories about recognisable themes such as identity, relationships, emotions and life and death are the motive. Capturing the feelings associated with these themes is central to my work and they stimulate the viewer’s imagination, memories and feelings, creating recognition and connection. I depict these themes in graphic and mixed techniques and shape them with figurative elements. Although reality is abstracted, visual elements remain recognisable. My work is mainly suggestive and associative. They are often atmospheric images with an intense emotional and poetic charge
